The Oil & Fuel marine boom is manufactured for dealing with spillages of oil or diesel on water and is usually deployed as the first line of defence when any liquid lighter than water has been spilt in either a still or light flowing water environment.

The Marine Boom comes in 3m lengths with a diameter of 12cm and is better suited to spillages of low viscosity oils or fuels in slow moving water environments. The oil booms have a length of rope running inside and along the length of them, not only to give extra strength but to prevent the booms from becoming over-stretched.

Metal rings attached to the ends of the booms allow them to be joined together to create the desired overall length. Whilst the OBS4 booms themselves have a large absorbent capacity they are usually used in conjunction with other absorbent materials such as oil spill pads or mechanical water skimmers and vacuums.
