Novaphit SSTC Gasket Jointing combines the excellent temperature and media resistance of expanded graphite, with an expanded metal insert. The special geometry of the expanded metal produces a three-dimensional mechanical bond which provides outstanding stress relaxation and recovery properties.
Novaphit SSTC is a graphite gasket material with an insert consisting of acid-proof Stainless Steel (1.4404 AISI 316 L) suitable for the highest pressure and temperature requirements as well as excellent media resistance.
These properties make Novaphit SSTC the superior choice over others, even in applications that will involve a changing load. The expanded metal layer with its three dimensional non-intersection geometry make it superior to the standard graphite gaskets ith their tanged and flat metal inserts and shows its recovery properties in tongue and groove flanged connections.
Studies have shown that at a pressure rating of 40 MPa the leakage is approximately 50% lower for tanged metal gaskets.
Novaphit SSTC contains a graphite with a purity of at least 98% and proves this quality especially with its outstanding loss on ignition and oxidation values.
