12mm Dia Glass Soft Round Rope Lagging 30M Roll
Soft Round Rope Lagging manufactured from a low density blow glass fibre core which is partially enclosed in a braided cover filament glass yarn. This lagging is extra soft and pliable, inorganic, sterile and incombustible while also being resistant to oils, solvents as well as most chemicals and features a low level of leachable chlorides and fluorides.

This lagging features excellent thermal insulation and is suitable for temperatures up to 550°C and also has a low thermal conductivity.

  • Features
  • Soft ceramic packing is a seal and insulating rope, made by over braiding mechanically resistant glass reinforced ceramic yarns around a soft lagging core. The overbraid covers the core 100% (full coverage).
  • The soft lagging core of the packing consists of blown ceramic fibres resistant to very high temperatures.
  • The combination of the glass reinforced ceramic yarn and the ceramic fibre filler, makes the soft ceramic packing particularly suitable for static sealing applications.
  • The ceramic fibre insulation is rated to 1260°C in situ.
  • Applications
  • Excellent for kiln car, industrial furnaces, boilers door seals.
  • Pipe and cable insulation, aluminium and iron metallurgy industries, various seals
  • Particularly suitable for forming into insultation 'o' rings and seals on industrial and domestic heating appliances.
  • Provides an efficient method for insultating pipework and is also suitable for a variety of high temperature sealing and caulking applications.
  • Filler for tadpole tapes.

N.B. Packing is normally supplied loomstate. In the manufacture of ceramic yarn a certain small percentage of organic binder is used to aid spinning. This can sometimes cause “flashing” at high temperatures. This can be avoided if the product is heat cleaned prior to use or if the organic impurities in the product can be allowed to burn off in situ on application for the initial period.
