The Jazz-Band earplug by Moldex, has a brightly coloured Polyurethane/Polycarbonate band, a polyester neck cord with safety release mechanism and comfortable, replaceable foam pods. This dual material technology reduces noise transmission during use.
This lightweight, semi-aural hearing protector is ideal when moving in and out of high noise areas, fitting comfortably around the neck when not in use. Each conical shaped insert swivels to align with the ear canal, providing a move-resistent seal against noise.
This lightweight general-purpose dielectric earmuff is ideal for day long use and suitable for most industries other than the loudest noise levels. The Model 5000 is easily adjusted but retains your chosen position with the innovative 'twist and lock' mechanism. Manufactured to EN351-1 SNR 27.
Conforms to BSEN 352-3 H= 31 M=23 L=16 SNR=26
HSE Control of Noise at work Regulation
The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 came into force for all industry sectors in Great Britain on 6th April 2006. The aim of the Noise Regulations is to ensure that workers’ hearing is protected from excessive noise at their place of work, which could cause them to lose their hearing and/or to suffer from tinnitus (permanent ringing in the ears).
The level at which employers must provide hearing protection and hearing protection zones is now 85 decibels (daily or weekly average exposure) and the level at which employers must assess the risk to workers’ health and provide them with information and training is now 80 decibels. There is also an exposure limit value of 87 decibels, taking account of any reduction in exposure provided by hearing protection, above which workers must not be exposed.
